An Anime Journey of 100 Posts!

97! . . . 98! . . . 99!

100!

That’s right, this is the 100th post on my blog, I can’t believe it! It took (slightly) over a year to get to this point. I am so proud of how my little blog has grown from a single paragraph post into a multi-page, interactive website! When I wrote my first post I had no idea my blog would last so long (honestly, I thought it would be a creative project for a few months) or how much fun I would have along the way. Not only am I grateful for all the wonderful people I met along the way, I’m also grateful for all the anime I’ve been introduced to that I might have not watched if I hadn’t made so many connections to the anime community through this blog!

100th post and 100% connected to anime!

And how do I plan to celebrate this big milestone in my blog’s development? With more anime of course! Much like how my blog finally made it passed the 100 post mark (next step is a thousand posts!) there are also quite a few anime that have withstood the test of time and surpassed the 100 episode milestone too. Some are epic sagas that are no surprise that they would reach such extended story arcs, while others are a bit surprising they lasted so long! So if you’re an anime fan that isn’t afraid of commitment and more than willing to stick with your favorite characters for the long haul, here are some anime that made it passed 100 episodes!

100 point on a test
I’m sure everyone is very impressed! Lol!

Inuyasha

Kagome’s a trans-dimensional trend setter!

Considering how many movies and OVAs are part of this series, it’s surprising this saga doesn’t have more episodes! At 167 episodes, this relatively short anime is a classic isekai before traveling to another world was trendy. Kagome fell down a magical well and into the feudal Japan of myth and legend. While there, this time traveling girl accidentally broke a magical gem and is tasked with finding all the pieces and putting it back together. The problem might have been solved with a tube of super glue and some trusty tweezers, but unfortunately there’s plenty of monsters trying to gobble up all the shards of the gem so they can gain the jewel’s powers. What Kagome needed was demon fighting, guard dog that has the personality of a tsundere, and she gets just that in the form of Inuyasha her demonic partner in the search for the magical gem pieces.

My Hero Academia

It’s a long road from zero to hero, but that’s just what Deku is doing in the anime My Hero Academia in 113 episodes and counting. The main character Deku certainly didn’t start out as a champ in the first episodes of MHA, in fact he was kind of a wimp and was bullied at his middle school. But he never gave up on his dream to be a super hero. For most people in Deku’s world being a super hero might have been a reachable goal, after all about 80% of the population of the world had super powers of some kind. Unfortunately for Deku, he wasn’t part of that 80%, so his chances to become a hero were pretty bleak. That is until he met All Might, the strongest, toughest, most hero-est of heroes! After some demonstrations of bravery and a lot of hard work on Deku’s part, All Might took the middle schooler under his wing and put Deku on the path to be a real hero!

Sailor Moon

Sailor Scouts!

As expected of shojo royalty, Sailor Moon doesn’t just sail passed the 100 episode milestone, she lands primly at 200 episodes! With a main character named Usagi Tsukino, I guess it’s not surprising she would pass the competition by leaps and bounds! Usagi spent her couple hundred episodes befriending a magical cat, building a team of planet themed magical teen girls, defending the Earth from an evil queen and her minions, and maybe kindling a little romance with a certain tuxedoed sweet heart on the side. Usagi Tsukino has been one busy bunny! As if the heroic exploits of the main character aren’t enough to impress, the anime series has a pretty note worthy track record as well. This anime not only surpassed the 100 episode milestone, it inspired an entire generation of shojo manga and anime. And though it was first released in 1991, it’s still a fan favorite today!

  1. Congrats. I have sadly not watched any of those to completion. One Piece is the most I’ve seen so far at 574 episodes. I’ve seen a season or three of several others, but I definitely need to up my game.

  2. Nice work sticking with blogging. I am not that familiar with your anime series. Do you alternate each time with a different one of your animes or do you continue a series over a period of time with just one? What would be the reasoning for your choice?

    1. These are series I’ve already watched quite a while ago. I was just highlighting some series anime fans might want to try out if they’re looking for a series that’s kind of on the longer side. I know that some anime fans get a little annoyed with the standard 12 episode series, so if they want to watch an anime with more than 100 episodes here are 3 that I recommend and 50 they can look into!
